Who are we?
My name is Edouard, I'm 30 years old. I've been thrifting since 2017, driven at first by a pure passion for denim — and more specifically for Levi's. What started as an obsession with vintage 501s grew into something much bigger: an insatiable curiosity for everything that was made well, thought through carefully, stitched with intention. Before fast fashion changed the rules.
Today, Good Old Days has over 12,000 followers on Vinted and an online shop that truly reflects who I am. Every piece you find here has been chosen by someone who knows it, loves it, and could wear it himself.
From a song by The Libertines, one of my favourite bands. There's a line in it that resonates with me: "if you've lost your faith in love and music, the end won't be long".
But Good Old Days is also a deep conviction: clothes were made better before. Compare an "entry-level" garment from the 70s, 80s or 90s with what you can find today at any price point. The difference is striking. The fabrics, the stitching, the durability. Back in the good old days, things weren't done by halves.
I'm a chameleon. I can dress western one day, streetwear the next, sartorial the day after. I like the idea of not being locked into one box, of borrowing from different universes depending on my mood.
But if I had to pick my everyday uniform: German Army Trainers — in my opinion the most versatile sneakers ever made — or a pair of black derby shoes, a Levi's Vintage Clothing 501 1955, a vintage Champion Reverse Weave sweatshirt, a Levi's Type 2 trucker jacket or a Barbour depending on the season, and an Ebbets Field Flannels baseball cap.
What I love and what I could wear myself — that's the rule.
Vintage denim and LVC first, because that's where it all started. I have a genuine passion for Levi's Vintage Clothing and what they do: faithful reissues of iconic models, with the same selvedge fabrics, the same details, the same soul. The 501 across the decades, the 505 — pieces I know inside out.
Hawaiian shirts, which I've been collecting for a long time. There's something about those prints, that lightness, that permanent holiday spirit, that has always drawn me in.
Ralph Lauren, for the unique universe he built around American style: preppy, western, Ivy League, all blended together with remarkable coherence.
And everything else. Workwear, vintage sportswear, tailoring, accessories. I'm genuinely interested in everything, and if a piece speaks to me, it has a place here.
Anywhere and everywhere. Hours spent digging through racks nobody else would bother with. Car boot sales, thrift stores, online, wherever. I love the idea of finding THE piece hidden among everything else. The one everyone walked past and that turns out to be extraordinary.
I keep some pieces for myself. I have my own collection, and there are finds I'll never part with. The most priceless? The shirt from my favourite team, worn in a match by my favourite player. That's beyond value.
Because every piece has been carefully chosen by someone who genuinely knows and loves what he sells. No filler, no bulk buying, no compromises on quality. Just clothes that have a story — and that deserve to start a new one.
